A message from Cllr Chamberlain, Cabinet Member for Housing
“I was delighted to meet many residents whilst I was out and about, with housing officers, at the recent Big Door Knock. Hearing your experiences first-hand and ensuring your views help shape the services we deliver is a key priority. It was an opportunity to double check that our tenant information is up to date including if any special support is needed for any health condition or mobility challenge. You can view more on the Big Door Knock, see the video. We will be out in the community again next year so keep an eye out for details.”

Keep communal areas clean and safe
The caretaking service continues to provide estate cleaning to the indoor and outdoor communal areas. It is important that walkways, intake cupboards, stairwells and balconies are kept clear of bulky items to prevent serious risks such as fire, slips and trips to those who live in the block. Also, it’s important to ensure residents can get out quickly and safely if there is a fire or other emergency. The Council is offering a free bulk refuse collection service (for household items only). To view a list of items that are recognised as ‘household bulk’ and to book a free collection, visit our website.

| | Get your home winter ready |
As the winter months approach, completing some home maintenance checks is a really good idea to help keep you and your home safe. A number of problems can crop up in the winter months from condensation to the heating not working. Remember to make sure your heating and boiler are working properly before it gets really cold. If there’s a problem, please report it. Often damp in your home can be due to condensation. There are some simple steps you can take to ensure condensation doesn't become a problem. If there is a damp and mould issue you should report it.

Understanding your 2025-26 service charge adjustments
Leaseholders across Enfield have recently received their Actual Service Charge Adjustment for the 2025-26 financial year. We understand that receiving a service charge adjustment can raise questions, particularly where charges differ from the estimates provided at the beginning of the year. We want to help you understand how these charges are calculated and where you can access support if you need it. If you have questions about your statement, please get in touch with our Income Team. Our team is here to help you understand your charges and identify the most appropriate support available to you.

| | Improving our neighbourhoods - estate enhancement service |
Our estate enhancement service continues to improve the look and condition of our estates. Involvement from residents through feedback on areas for improvement has been essential to making sure that the estate enhancement works have met the community's needs. Some examples of works that have been carried out include creating new bin storage, installing knee high rails or fencing, planting projects, improving shared community gardens and pram shed repairs. If you have an idea on how your estate can benefit from estate enhancement, complete the Estate Enhancement Service Feedback form.
