|
 | New Town Council paused
At Full Council on 14 October, the Council paused plans to create a new town council for Royal Tunbridge Wells while it waits for more information from the Government about Local Government Reorganisation.
Cllr Ben Chapelard, Leader of the Council said:
"The government pausing Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) was a total surprise to us and other councils across Kent. The decision to pause is a major change in government policy. It is therefore prudent to pause our local plans to set up a new town council whilst we wait to hear about the government's new plans to abolish councils and create new ones in Kent."

Got an awkward or bulky item to dispose of? Our bulky waste collection service will remove heavy or large items too big to fit in your bin. To visit the household waste recycling centre at North Farm you must book a slot in advance using the Kent County Council booking system.
Remember you can put old batteries out during your recycling collection week and small electrical items and textiles on your household waste collection week.

 | Call for sites: deadline approaching
The Call for Sites is a process that TWBC must legally carry out as part of our Local Plan Review. It is an opportunity for local residents, businesses, landowners and others to suggest sites that could be developed in the future. These sites could be developed for many different purposes, from community use to residential. Sites submitted are reviewed for suitability, and are not guaranteed to be developed.
