 | Voting matters
We're updating the electoral register to ensure everyone eligible can vote.
Received a letter from us? Please check your details and respond online. It's quick and easy. If we don't hear from you, a canvasser may visit your home.
Postal votes now need to be renewed every three years. If this applies to you, we'll contact you in plenty of time before the May 2027 elections.
Young people aged 16 and 17 can register now so they're ready to vote when they become eligible.
Thank you for helping keep the register up to date.

 | Name that gritter!
A brand-new fleet of 62 gritters is coming to Kent this winter, and each needs a fun and unique name. From icy puns to winter-themed ideas, Kent County Council is asking children across the county to get creative and come up with some clever names for the vehicles. Each child who enters will be in with the chance of having their chosen name proudly displayed on one of the gritters in time for the winter.

Your food waste is collected weekly on the same day as your recycling or household waste collection; it may be collected at a different time of the day.
Got an awkward or bulky item to dispose of? Our bulky waste collection service will remove heavy or large items too big to fit in your bin. To visit the household waste recycling centre at North Farm you must book a slot in advance using the Kent County Council booking system.
Remember you can put old batteries out during your recycling collection week and small electrical items and textiles on your household waste collection week.
Check our waste and recycling pages for more information. |
