Stevie G's big plans for Huyton
There's been some huge news for Knowsley today, with England and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard announcing that he's behind plans for a massive investment in sports facilities at King George V playing fields in Huyton - just down the road from where he grew up. The plans include new 3G football pitches, a padel centre of excellence and community facilities. Steven intends to make a significant personal investment into the multi-million pound plans, working with Knowsley Council to develop them. He said: "I’m investing in these projects because I believe in the difference they can make for young people. It's fantastic to announce the plan for Huyton because this is not too far away from where I grew up. The facilities will be world-class."
